Sailing Away…

Tonight the Shenk Family got to take a sunset sailing cruise on the
Great Salt Lake, courtesy of Poppa Pelt (thanks, Pop!), and it was
AWESOME! We had forgotten how much we love being out on the water, and
this was just so lovely and so peaceful. The captain was great and he
and James had a marvelous time being silly. We’re looking forward to
doing it again in the fall when it’s cooler, and it will be something we
look forward to taking out-of-town guests on as well. (Call now for reservations at Casa de Shenk.)
James was unconvinced in the beginning.
The California Gull is the state bird of Utah. (fun fact)
Relaxing and enjoying the ride with Mom.
Silly faces with Captain Jim.
Our beautiful boat, Impulse.
Captain Jim let James steer (with First Mate Chris).
The moon and the reflection of the moon in the water.
A beautiful sunset to cap off a lovely day.
A sailing pro by the end, he was ready to get a boat and sail every day.
Sunset at the marina.
