Off to a Great Start!

2016 is off to a great start. January had some fun adventures and there are more on the horizon.
The best adventures begin at home. This is our backyard.
Reading can take you on all kinds of adventures!
We were thrilled to welcome our friends, Tanya and Declan, to our place for a fun weekend with some good times spent at Disney.
Not too big for Dad’s shoulders… yet!
Declan, James, and Tanya take on Big Thunder Mountain
Crazy kiddos enjoying our delicious dinner at the Rose & Crown in Epcot.
Saying hello to our old pals, Minnie and Pluto.
Chris had to drive up to the Charlotte office for a couple days of work, so James and I tagged along. We are always up for a road trip! Our time in the car was spent listening to the audiobook of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and James is hooked. He loved it and we can’t wait to keep going through the series. Homeschooling was done in the morning at the hotel and the afternoons were for field trips. We enjoyed an afternoon at the Sea Life Aquarium one day and the next day we took in Discovery Place. There was a special Body Worlds exhibit at Discovery Place that was really cool and tied in nicely with some of the life science we have been studying this year.
Checking out the fish
This was a neat way for kids to get a closer look. He thought making a fish face might help.
We love to watch the jellies and we have been studying cnidaria in Science.
An experiment on the power of pulleys at the science museum.
A water table is always a fun time!
We were lucky enough to enjoy some light snow flurries in Charlotte, but we headed back to Florida before the big storm came.
He couldn’t wait to start catching snowflakes on his tongue!
