December 2018, Part Two

Christmas time at Disney World is truly magical. The decorations are so detailed and so lovely that you can actually feel in the holiday spirit despite the fact that you probably don’t even need a jacket. This year, we spent a day at Epcot enjoying “Christmas Around the World” and learning about a variety of international holiday traditions with some of our favorite people, the Broyes.
James and Ellie meet Father Christmas in the UK.
Oui, oui, messieurs– James adorably tries on France.
The closest Florida comes to a snowman– tropical plant topiaries.
Christmas fun at the Mouse House!
There’s always time for Super Mario chess with GrandPoppa.
Ellie loves to bring you books to read to her. Thanks, GrandPoppa!
Shenk cousins on their annual adventure to ICE! with Mimi & Papa.
Jackson loves his cousin so much he is wearing a hoodie with his name on it!
While James hangs out with his cousins, Ellie spends time with her best buddy, Z.
This sweet silly girl loves to play in the shoe basket with her Christmas friends.
Leo is not very enthusiastic about his forced participation in the holiday spirit.
Christmas Eve for us usually involves matching pajamas for the kids (for as long as I can make that work), a reading of The Night Before Christmas, and goodies left out for Santa. As a special treat, we also enjoyed a party at the Broyes.
On Christmas morning, we are excited to open presents as a little family before joining up with family for some delicious feast. This Christmas, we were happy to host the Shenk side for what we hope everyone thought was a yummy dinner.
Christmas Eve party time!
James decided to do the reading this year. (cue me melting into a puddle of Mom goo)
James’ note to Santa makes me giggle. As if he needed an explanation.
Merry Christmas, sleepyheads!
Santa brought Ellie a red wagon. She’s unconvinced.
A Death Star beanbag is the way to this kiddo’s heart.
This year’s holiday cake involved an attempt at frosted trees.
One happy and lucky momma.
Ellie and Mimi in coordinating Christmas colors.
Ellie helps Aunt Ayesha turn the pages on her Elmo book.
Ava and I– the ladies in red.
When it’s Florida, you can enjoy Christmas dinner on the patio!
